    مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيَقُلْ خَيْرًا أَوْ لِيَصْمُتْ

    Man kāna yu'minu bi-llāhi wa-l-yawmi-l-ākhiri fal-yaqul khayran aw li-yaṣmut.

    "Whoever believes in Allāh and the Last Day should speak good or remain silent."

    أَكْثِرُوا ذِكْرَ هَاذِمِ اللَّذَّاتِ: الْمَوْتَ

    Akthirū dhikra hādhimi-l-ladhdhāt : al-mawt.

    "Remember often that which severs pleasures: death."

    لَا يُؤْمِنُ أَحَدُكُمْ حَتَّى يُحِبَّ لِأَخِيهِ مَا يُحِبُّ لِنَفْسِهِ

    Lā yu'minu aḥadukum ḥattā yuḥibba li-akhīhi mā yuḥibbu li-nafsih.

    "None of you is a believer until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself."

    مَنْ حَسُنَ إِسْلَامُ الْمَرْءِ تَرْكُهُ مَا لَا يَعْنِيهِ

    Min ḥusni islāmi-l-mar'i tarkuhu mā lā yaʿnīh.

    "Part of the perfection of a man's Islam is his leaving alone that which does not concern him."

    إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَنْظُرُ إِلَى صُوَرِكُمْ وَأَمْوَالِكُمْ، وَلَكِنْ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى قُلُوبِكُمْ وَأَعْمَالِكُمْ

    Inna-llāha lā yanẓuru ilā ṣuwarikum wa amwālikum, wa lākin yanẓuru ilā qulūbikum wa aʿmālikum.

    "Allāh does not look at your forms or your possessions, but He looks at your hearts and your deeds."

    اتَّقِ اللَّهَ حَيْثُمَا كُنْتَ، وَأَتْبِعِ السَّيِّئَةَ الْحَسَنَةَ تَمْحُهَا، وَخَالِقِ النَّاسَ بِخُلُقٍ حَسَنٍ

    Ittaqi-llāha ḥaythumā kunt, wa atbiʿi as-sayyi'ata al-ḥasanata tamḥuhā, wa khāliqi-n-nāsa bi-khuluqin ḥasan.

    "Fear Allāh wherever you may be; follow up a bad deed with a good one which will wipe it out; and behave towards people with a good character."

    كَلِمَتَانِ خَفِيفَتَانِ عَلَى اللِّسَانِ، ثَقِيلَتَانِ فِي الْمِيزَانِ، حَبِيبَتَانِ إِلَى الرَّحْمَنِ: سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ، سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ

    Kalimatāni khafīfatāni ʿalā-l-lisān, thaqīlatāni fī-l-mīzān, ḥabībatāni ilā-r-Raḥmān : Subḥāna-llāhi wa bi-ḥamdih, Subḥāna-llāhi-l-ʿAẓīm.

    "Two phrases that are light on the tongue but heavy in the balance and beloved to the Most Merciful: Subḥāna-llāhi wa bi-ḥamdih, Subḥāna-llāhi-l-ʿAẓīm."
