Hajj & ʿUmra — 1. Ihrām & Intention at the Mīqāt

At the Mīqāt: full ablution (Ghusl) is recommended, donning Ihrām garments, then making the intention according to the rite (ʿUmra, Qirān, or Ifrād) followed by the Talbiya.

    لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ عُمْرَةً

    Labbayka-llāhumma ʿumrah.

    Here I am before You, O Allāh, for an ʿUmra. (Intention for Tamattuʿ or ʿUmra only)

    Labbayka-llāhumma ʿumratan wa ḥajjā.

    Here I am before You for an ʿUmra and a Hajj. (Intention for Qirān)

    اللَّهُمَّ مَحِلِّي حَيْثُ حَبَسْتَنِي

    Allāhumma maḥillī ḥaythu ḥabastanī.

    O Allāh, my place of exiting Ihrām is wherever You stop me. (Condition in case of impediment)
