1. Ihrām & Intention at the Mīqāt

At the Mīqāt: full ablution (Ghusl) is recommended, donning Ihrām garments, then making the intention according to the rite (ʿUmra, Qirān, or Ifrād) followed by the Talbiya.

2. The Talbiya

Recited upon entering Ihrām and repeated until the start of the Tawāf (for ʿUmra) or until the stoning of the large Jamarāt on the day of ʿĪd (for Hajj). Men raise their voices, women say it softly.

3. Entering Mecca & seeing the Kaʿba

Upon entering the Ḥaram and at the first sight of the Sacred House.

4. Tawāf around the Kaʿba

Seven circuits around the Kaʿba starting from the Black Stone, with the right shoulder uncovered (Iḍṭibāʿ) and trotting for the first three circuits (Raml) for men during the first Tawāf.

5. Saʿy between Aṣ-Ṣafā and al-Marwa

Seven circuits between the two hills, starting with Aṣ-Ṣafā. At each ascent, face the Kaʿba, raise your hands and supplicate.

6. Minā, on 8 Dhū al-Ḥijja

The Day of Tarwiya (8 Dhū al-Ḥijja): departure to Minā, performance of the five Ṣalāts (Ẓuhr, ʿAṣr, Maghrib, ʿIshā', Fajr) shortened without combining them, awaiting departure to ʿArafa.

7. Day of ʿArafa (9 Dhū al-Ḥijja)

Supreme pillar of Hajj: standing at ʿArafa from noon until sunset. The Prophet ﷺ combined Ẓuhr and ʿAṣr in advance (Jamʿ taqdīm) there, then supplicated until sunset.

8. Muzdalifah (Night of the 9th to 10th)

At sunset in ʿArafah, depart for Muzdalifah: Maghrib and ʿIshā' prayers are combined and shortened upon arrival, spend the night there, collect pebbles for the Jamarāt.

9. Stoning of the Jamarāt (10–13 Dhū al-Ḥijja)

On the 10th: seven pebbles at the large Jamra (al-ʿAqaba), then sacrifice, shaving/shortening, and Tawāf al-Ifāḍa. On the days of Tashrīq: the three Jamarāt after Ẓuhr.

10. Ṭawāf al-Wadāʿ (farewell)

The pilgrim's last rite before leaving Mecca: seven circumambulations around the Kaʿba. Dispensed for menstruating women.

11. Visiting Medina & the Prophet ﷺ

Visiting the Prophet's Mosque ﷺ is a recommended Sunnah (and not a rite of Hajj). Upon entering the mosque, pray two rakʿāt for greeting, then proceed to the blessed grave.
